The History of Holy Ghost Hour Church NY
In the year 1990 God revealed to Reverend Oppong Kyekyeku to leave and start another ministry when he was serving his beloved Church Assemblies of God. He resisted the revelation many times simply because that was his comfort zone both spiritually and physically. Nevertheless the vision kept coming until 1994 then he finally yielded to the revelation.
Certainly God would never send you to where his grace is not sufficient. The faithful God rapidly brought sincere and prepared men of God who understood the vision to encircle Rev. Oppong Kyekyeku for the founding of the ministry. It included Reverend Doku Duah, who is now General Overseer in Ghana, Reverend Owusu Aduomi, Reverend Adjei Boachi, and Pastor Bernard Tweneboah. On the month of March 19th these ministers met at Rev. Adjei Boachi’s house in Nungua Accra for prayers, there the ministry was named; Holy Ghost Hour Church. April 4th 1994 they had their first church service at New Achimota petroleum. Together ten (10) members met at that meeting and now branches had been opened in Ghana.
Obviously our mission is to preach the total gospel of Jesus Christ to all mankind, making disciples among all nations by fellowshipping, teaching of the word of God, praying, witnessing, godliness, feeding the hunger, building schools and hospitals, supporting the needy especially orphans, standing against social injustice, defending disfranchised, etc.
Since the mission is broad and worldwide, early 2009 with brother Joseph Annor, brother Appiah Kubi, brother Philip Banson, and Reverend Oppong Kyekyeku met in pastor’s apartment to discuss the possibility of opening branches in this country. We began to pray and God’s miraculous way brought Mr. and Mrs. Adu-Gyamfi Apenteng and continuing bringing His children together. God opened a door of opportunity for us to open another branch at Boston Massachusetts at the same period. Obviously within a few months the living room of the Pastor was not enough to contain the members and the search begun for larger place. Lo and behold the Faithful God led us to Reverend Kenroy A. Watson, a great man of God, a businessman, and the founder of Crown of Life and Love Ministry, locating in 222W 145th Street New York NY 10039. He opened his heart and his door for us in the same location and on September 6th 2009 the church had the first service in that place instead of the Pastor’s apartment.
Almighty God, continue showering the Church of His blessings and again September 2nd 2012 the Church move in again to four thousand square feet building at 791 Westchester Avenue, Bronx NY, 10455, where the Church is location now.
